Phase 2, Weeks 4 to 5 (21/10/2019 - 03/11/2019) were essentially two whole research weeks which were used to take one of our four topics, intensively research into it, and give a presentation on Friday the 1st of November detailing everything we had found out.
The true objective of Phase 2 was to get each of us to begin to form some game ideas out of the subjects we had studied and the information we had found out.
Whilst our presentations were being given, we used an online interactive writing tool set up by Adam to leave a large variety of feedback and suggestions to our coursemates on what game ideas they could potentially come up with from what they had learnt.
I personally really enjoyed using this tool because it really felt like I was giving something back to my coursemates in a fun and interactive way. I felt more connected to what was going on.
Overall, I felt that there was a lot more time to properly research our topics in this phase, which made the ending and outcome feel a lot more rewarding. I felt accomplished knowing that I did all the research I could instead of having to skim the surface of a topic due to the lack of time. It gave me the chance to truly study into something I love to pieces.
I also felt like I gave a much better presentation due to my love and understanding of the subject matter and there being much less of a time constraint. I also had more time to develop my presentation prompt, which aided me in giving a confident and well-spoken presentation. Above all this, I actually enjoyed giving this presentation.
